Over the last few years, the media has portrayed our officers in a really negative light. We can tell you, that the positives of our officers far outweighs the bad. One family in Florida will scream that from the mountain tops. A neighbor called 911 and a deputy from Flagler County arrived on the scene, before the fire department, EMS and other officers. The officer asked "how many people live here, normally?" "Three," the neighbor says.
The officer checked and knocked on doors with no answers other than the dogs barking. When the officer entered the home, he saw a blanket on the couch. He pulled it back and there was a sleeping little boy. "Where's your mom and dad?" the officer asked in a calm tone. "I don't know," the little boy said. "I'm with the Sherriff's Department. Can you come with me?" "Yes!" he said proudly. The officer was able to get him, and the dogs, out of the burning home and it was all caught on his body camera.
