Two of country music’s biggest stars will soon come together for what will likely be an epic performance.  Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood are set to duet at the upcoming 2014 Billboard Music Awards.  They’ll perform their debut duet, “Somethin’ Bad” from Miranda’s upcoming Platinum album, Platinum.   The Billboard Music Awards will air live from Vegas on May 18th.

Luke Bryan’s Crash My Party continues to dominate the top spot on the Country Albums chart.  Florida Georgia Line’s Here’s to the Good Times moves up one slot to #2.  Eric Church’s The Outsiders takes the third position and Blake Shelton re-enters the top five with Based on a True Story.  Johnny Cash’s Out Among the Stars holds steady at #5.

Billy Currington is being sued by the Georgia tour boat captain who pressed criminal charges against him last year.  Currington was sentenced to five years’ probation in September after pleading no contest to a charge of abuse of an elderly person.  Now the victim is saying that Billy mocked and libeled him on a fan website two days before his plea.  A spokeswoman for Currington’s record label isn’t commenting.

An arrest was made in Monday’s home invasion and armed robbery involving Scotty McCreery and his friends at an apartment near the campus of North Carolina State University, where Scotty is a student.  A 19 year-old suspect turned himself in to police and is being held on $375,000 bond.  The investigation is ongoing and police are still searching for the other two suspects.

 



Animal lover Shania Twain is lending her time and name in support of wild leopards.  She just became the Global Ambassador for Project Pardus, which aims to stop the senseless killing of leopards before they become extinct.  Shania’s had a long-standing appreciation for the big cats – she’s incorporated faux leopard onto her stage outfits for years.
