Chris Young Gives Back To Hurricane Victims

Chris Young might not be from the Lone Star state, but that isn't stopping him from giving back to those who have been affected by Hurricane Harvey.

On Sunday, Chris took to Facebook to announce he set up a Gofundme account that will go directly to benefit the Red Cross in it’s efforts to help those in Texas. The "Losing Sleep" singer kicked off the page by donating $100,000, in hopes that his fans would follow suit and help the cause.

“I have friends and family there, and I’m fairly positive my house down there may have to be torn down as it was in one of the hardest hit areas by wind and flooding. But that’s the least of my concern. I’m worried about the people there…Like I said, my friends, family, neighbors…and I want to help. Please go to Gofundme.com/HarveyRelief. I love you guys and every little bit helps.”

Several other country stars have posted about the tragedy, from Miranda Lambert and Charles Kelley to Blake Shelton and Chris Janson.

The Red Cross is serving about 130,000 meals a day in Texas right now, so they need all the help they can get.

Hundreds of thousands of people have lost electricity.

Houston may get another two or more feet of rain over the coming days.
