Atlanta Goes Orange on Friday 13th

It's Friday the 13th and you'll see multiple major landmark building in Atlanta change their outside lights to Orange tonight. No, Atlanta is not getting a head start on Halloween or being taken over by Pumpkin spice mania. September is Hunger Action Month with Feeding America and Friday September 13th is Hunger Action Day. SkyView Atlanta in Centennial Park, Ponce City Market, the King & Queen building, City Hall, the digital Georgia’s Own display, Mercedes Benz, King & Spalding, and Atlantic Station will all light their exterior lights orange for Hunger Action Day.

The Atlanta Community Food Bank is asking everyone to wear Orange (the national color of hunger awareness) this Friday - and post on your socials tagging @ACFB to show your support to help end hunger in America.

There are 40 million people in America who face hunger. 1 in 8 people in Atlanta Community Food Bank’s 29-county service area are affected. .Last year, Atlanta Community Food Bank distributed over 68 million pounds of food and grocery products , enough for nearly 58 million meals.

Atlanta Community Food Bank is asking Atlantans to come together to help with 4,000 actions – a donation, a volunteer shift, a social media post – to end hunger. You can visit HungerActionMonth.org or www.acfb.org to learn how you can get started.
