Luke Combs revealed new details about his upcoming Nashville bar.

The award-winning country star posted a video on Instagram on Monday night (January 29), filming from the historic Grand Ole Opry, to announce the name of his honky tonk that’s set to open this year in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee.

“What’s up, guys? Luke here. So, as you know, we’ve been teasing a bar of mine in Downtown Nashville. So, I’m excited to officially announce the name of that bar. It’s gonna be called Category 10. I’m so excited about that. Obviously, as you guys know, the strongest a hurricane can be is Category 5, so we figured we’d double it and make it Category 10. It’s gonna be an awesome honky tonk (in) Downtown Nashville, (offering) food, spirits, you know, you name it. Whatever you want, we’re gonna have it. It’s gonna be so much fun. I can’t wait for this thing to open. I can’t wait to see you guys there. (I’m) backstage at the Opry right now, which is also super sick. So, you guys let me know what you think, and we’ll see you soon.”

The “Growin' Up and Gettin' Old” artist, who recently teased new music, also shared the upcoming venue's official Instagram account for up-to-date info about Category 10. The announcement from Combs and Opry Entertainment Group also comes with new renderings of the highly-anticipated venue (included in the gallery below). Category 10 is slated to “make landfall” in summer 2024.

The multi-level entertainment venue will total 67,000 square feet, offering three interior floors and a rooftop with a total capacity of about 3,000, per a press release issued on Tuesday morning. Category 10 will include a honky tonk, a main stage with a massive dance floor (which will also be the site of line-dancing lessons), a sports bar, The Still, (designed for Combs’ fan club, songwriters and “bourbon aficionados”), and The Eye, the 7,000-square-foot rooftop overlooking the Cumberland River and Nissan Stadium.

“The Category 10 name symbolizes the sheer, undeniable power of Luke’s voice, songwriting, and career, and just like Luke, this venue will be an off-the-charts experience unlike anything else downtown,” Colin Reed, Executive Chairman of Ryman Hospitality Properties said in a statement.

Combs added in a statement in the press release that Category 10 will serve as a venue for artists of all levels to take the stage, including “a high-level touring act show,” and “a songwriter showcase” in the same space without skipping a beat. Combs said he “can’t wait for everyone to experience it.”

Combs previously confirmed he’d open a honky tonk and entertainment venue inspired by his smash-hit single, “Hurricane,” appearing on This One’s for You in 2017. Combs joined Opry Entertainment Group to make it happen. The space is currently occupied by Wildhorse Saloon, located on 2nd Ave N, intersecting with Nashville’s Lower Broadway. Last spring, Combs shared the first renderings of the “massive venue experience”in a thread on Twitter. Those renderings offered the first impressions of the highly-anticipated honky tonk, specialty bar, concert hall, the still, sports bar and rooftop.

Combs is one of the latest country megastars to open a venue in Downtown Nashville, joining Garth Brooks, Blake SheltonLuke BryanJason AldeanMiranda LambertDierks Bentley and others.
