Andrew Jury, who starred on the reality television series Married At First Sight New Zealand, has died at the age of 33, Deadline.com reports.

Jury was reportedly incarcerated at Mt. Eden Corrections Facility and scheduled to appear in court in relation to charges of “assault with intent to injure, willful damage and possession of an offensive weapon" at the time of his death. Andrew's father, Ron Jury, told the New Zealand Herald that his son was arrested on April 2 and "struggling" in jail, having displayed "red flag" qualities that authorities should've recognized.

Ron said the family was "bewildered" and "deeply saddened" by Andrew's death. Several former Married At First Sight New Zealand stars who appeared on the show alongside Jury in 2017, including Brett and Angel Renall, revealed their castmate's death in a statement obtained by the New Zealand Herald.

“It’s with the heaviest hearts we’ve come together to acknowledge the passing of Andrew Jury,” the statement reads. “We had the absolute pleasure of filming and participating in a show which leaves us intricately linked for a lifetime.”

"At this time, our entire cast wishes to send our deepest condolences and love to his family," the statement added.

Jury matched with bride Vicky Gleeson-Stokes on the show, which paired random people together based on expert analysis, and the couple stayed together through the completion of the season, but later broke up after filming. Jury publicly shared his criticism of the show's production following the split.

A spokesperson for Warner Bros. Discovery, which produced the reality series, issues a statement following news of Jury's death.

“Warner Bros Discovery expresses our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Andrew Jury," the statement reads via Deadline.com. “WBD takes duty of care extremely seriously and has protocols in place regarding the wellbeing of cast and crew. All MAFS NZ contributors have access to mental health professionals throughout the process, including pre-screening, during production and after broadcast.”
