Harper Grace shared a stunning cover of Shania Twain’s “You’re Still The One.”
Grace posted a clip of her rendition of the iconic ‘90s ballad on Sunday (February 1). Sitting at a piano in a dark room, the rising country artist sings: “Looks like we made it/ Look how far we've come, my baby/ We mighta took the long way. We knew we'd get there someday They said, ‘I bet they'll never make it’/ But just look at us holding on/ We're still together, still going strong/ You're still the one I run to/ The one that I belong to/ You're still the one I want for life/ You're still the one that I love/ The only one I dream of/ You're still the one I kiss goodnight.”
“They say ‘you’re still the one’… but what happens if ‘daddy says no?’” Grace wrote in her caption with a winking emoji. “Let the guessing games begin—what’s coming next?”
Though she hasn’t posted a release date as of publication time on Monday (February 2), Grace seemingly teased her unreleased radio single, “if daddy says no.” The Texas-born country artist and former American Idol contestant described the emotional song, which finds her caught between the two most important men in her life, as “living in the tension between wanting to make the right decision for yourself and not tearing down everything else around you in the process.” Grace, who recently announced her engagement, weighs the consequences of her decisions, notes similarities between the two men, and seeks her father’s patience and approval in the “coming-of-age track rooted in real-life vulnerability, not storybook endings,” per her record label.
