Terminally Ill Mom Picks Her Daughter's Wedding Gown

Allyson Wilt is a studying Occupational Therapy at Shenandoah University. She recently got engaged, and and is planning on tying the knot in 2019 when she's finished with school.

But as soon as she got engaged, she knew there was something she wanted to do right away- pick out a dress with her mom.

Wilt’s mother Mary “Meta” McKnight-Wilt recently entered hospice, suffering from stage four colon cancer. Doctors say she may only have a few weeks left.

“No one ever dreams that they're going to find the man that they're going to marry and they can't have their mom be there and help with everything,” said Allyson told WJLA.

After a special day with her mom at Serendipity Bridal and Events, Allyson has her dream wedding dress- picked and approved by her mom- to walk down the aisle in one day.
