Most vets will tell you that Husky's shouldn't be shaved, unless there's a medical reason.
So this viral photo is definitely concerning for people. We don't know the backstory, but we hope the decision to shave this husky was made my a vet, and for good reason.
In an interview with HuffPost, a veterinarian- Dr. Jeff Werber- said a well-groomed husky’s double-layer coat “is like a Thermos in the heat.”
“It will protect them from the heat and sunburn, and in the cold it protects from the cold weather. However if the coat is unhealthy and is matted or has some type of skin disease and for medical reasons we need to shave, then it would be advisable.”
