Selena Gomez revealed to fans in an Instagram post that she's been in the midst of a health crisis this summer.
The singer and actress has battled Lupus, an autoimmune disease, for years. Doctors told her earlier this year that she would need a new kidney.
She says in the post "I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music." She went on to explain that she needed to lay low for her health, but that she's been fortunate enough to receive a kidney from one of her closest friends, actress Francia Raisa.
