Approximately 1.4 million midsize Ford vehicles in North America are being recalled by the automaker. The models affected are 2014 through 2018 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ sedans due to a problem with the steering wheel bolts.
The steering wheel bolts may come loose causing the wheel to detach from the steering column. Yeah, you read that correctly. The steering wheel can detach from the steering column, while the car is in drive. Ford has indicated that two accidents and one injury have been reported. The majority of the vehicles affected are in the U.S. with the remaining cars in Canada and Mexico.
