David Blaine Jumps from Balloons, 20,000 Feet in the Air

The famed magician and all-around daredevil David Blaine is at it again! Blaine is known for his daring stunts that test the limits of his survival skills, and now he's back with a new trick. In his latest stunt Blaine was hoisted 20,000 feet over the Arizona desert by just 52 large red balloons, before plunging toward the earth in a freefall! The fall was broken by a pull of his parachute cord. Blaine said the trick was inspired by the classic film “The Red Balloon,” which his mother took him to see as a child. He dedicated the stunt, dubbed “Ascension,” to his 9-year-old daughter, who was onsite watching the stunt.
