Thomas Rhett has opened shows for Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean and Toby Keith but didn't think he was ready to move up to a headliner spot.
"Going into this year I begged my management. We can't do it. Let's do another year of the middle slot and they said I think you should just do it. This whole year has been mind-boggling to me. But I'm glad we did it."
He proved himself wrong. Before the tour even started, more shows were added, including a second show in Nashville when the first one sold out quickly.
His Home Team tour comes to Nashville's Ascend Amphitheater next week.
