Maren Morris has had a lot going on since her album HERO came out last year. Since then she topped almost every “artist to watch” list, won at the CMAs, ACMs, and Grammys. She’s toured everywhere, and also performed on a ton of TV shows, along with an appearance on Saturday Night Live. After her first two smash songs, now she’s on country radio with “I Could Use A Love Song.” So you see how it’d be easy for her to walk around with her head in the clouds, but Maren has a secret to staying grounded…her parents and her boyfriend. Maren says it also helps because “we’ve all gotten to have these first experiences together, and they definitely keep me grounded through all the chaos, because you can get sort of a little overwhelmed with it all.” Maren jokes that “I think if I told my thirteen year-old self that this would be happening later in life, I don’t think I would have believed it! Because it’s just…it’s too much for words sometimes what you’re going through, but it’s so exciting.” So, being grounded when you’re 13…not good. Being grounded when you have a huge singing career going…good–no matter what your age is.

“I take it day by day, and my parents, and my boyfriend, we’ve all gotten to have these first experiences together, and they definitely keep me grounded through all the chaos, because you can get sort of a little overwhelmed with it all, but I have been having the time of my life. I think the music that I’ve gotten to see live, and the things I’ve gotten to be a part of in the last 6 months…year…it’s been stuff dreams are made of. I think if I told my thirteen year-old self that this would be happening later in life, I don’t think I would have believed it! Because it’s just…it’s too much for words sometimes what you’re going through, but it’s so exciting.”
