Kane Brown Goes Gold With Lauren Alaina

Kane Brown’s single “What Ifs,” featuring Lauren Alaina, went GOLD, and this week the industry celebrated with a surprise party for him in Nashville, Tennessee. Kane had no idea he was going to be receiving his second RIAA GOLD Song Award when he walked into what he thought was a colleague’s party. Not only did the song achieve GOLD in just six months, it’s one of only four country songs to be released and certified in that time frame- which definitely calls for a big celebration.

Kane admits, “Yea I had no idea it was happening so I think that’s what made it a lot better. Especially I get to share it with Lauren.” Kane and Lauren are childhood friends from the same city in Georgia. They met in a chorus class where Lauren encouraged Kane to pursue singing, and now he’s one of country music’s hottest new stars.

When Kane Brown’s self-titled album released in December, it became and remains Country’s best-selling new artist debut of the past 2 and ½ years. It’s been a year of great numbers for Kane–as he’s out on the road with Jason Aldean and Chris Young on the They Don’t Know tour with 92 sold out headline shows and with over 141,000 tickets purchased. “What Ifs” has over 320 million on-demand streams and rises to #12 on the Billboard album consumption chart.

Kane is proud of his accomplishments with this single as it lands a spot in the Top 5 on-demand country audio streams, Top 10 on the Country Digital Song Chart, rises to #12 this week on the Billboard album consumption chart, and jumps to #20 on today’s airplay charts.  "For two kids to come up to Nashville and get a GOLD record and a top 20 single at radio I guess is pretty good.”

While Kane might have been surprised with his party, it is no surprise that “What Ifs” has been so successful."
