Dolly Parton makes an appearance on pop singer Kesha's new album, Rainbow. The two sing "Old Flames (Can't Hold a Candle to You)," a song written by Kesha's mom and recorded by Dolly in the '80s. So when Kesha asked her to do it with her, Dolly couldn't say no.
"I said 'of course, we have to do it. I really think it turned out great. I really threw my heart and soul into it. But anyhow, I just thought it was ironic how it all came about. I'm really proud of that recording and hope her album does great."
Dolly wasn't the first artist to sing the song, but she's the one who took it to number-one.
