Dierks Bentley has contributed the new song “Hold the Light” to the movie Only The Brave, the first time Dierks has ever written and recorded a song for a film. You can listen to it above.
The movie, which opens October 20th, tells the story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, who became one of the most elite firefighting teams in the country.
Dierks was actually intimately familiar with the fighting unit, having organized the Country Cares Concert in Arizona back in 2013, which raised $475,000 for the families of the firefighters who were lost in the Yarnell Hill Fire in Yarnill, Arizona.
“This is at the top, if not the most meaningful experience I’ve ever been a part of,” Dierks says. “It hits me harder than any other song I’ve had a chance to be a part of…. our goal was to create a message of hope and love. I’m honored to have been a part of it.”
