Shania's NOW is #1

Shania Twain’s new album “Now” topped the all-genre “Billboard” 200 album chart, so of course she’s also number one on the Top Country Albums chart. Shania’s record moved 137,000 equivalent album units, 134,000 of which were in traditional album sales, giving Shania her fifth number one country album.

The album also marks Shania’s 97th week at number one overall, the most of any female country artist, with Taylor Swift the closest with 87. Not surprisingly, the country artist with the most cumulative weeks at number one is Garth Brooks, with 171.

And “Now” doesn’t just top the charts in the U.S. The album, Shania’s first in 15 years, debuted at number one in Australia, Canada, the U.K. and Zimbabwe, and hit the Top Five in Ireland and New Zealand.

Elsewhere on the country chart:

  • Kane Brown’s “What Ifs,” featuring Lauren Alaina, tops the Hot Country Songs Chart, bumping Sam Hunt’s “Body Like A Back” out of number one after 34 weeks. Kane’s tune also tops the Country Streaming Songs.
  • Maren Morris’ new release “Dear Hate,” featuring Vince Gill, debuts at number one on the Country Digital Songs chart. Proceeds from the tune will go to Nashville’s Music City Cares Fund to support victims.
  • Kenny Chesney’s “All The Pretty Girls” tops the Country Airplay chart for a second week.
