Kane Brown was the instigator when it came to collaborating with pop star Camila Cabello on a version of her hit "Never Be the Same."
He was a big fan of Camila's when she was with Fifth Harmony and asked his record label head to make it happen.
Kane says, “We’re just trying to branch out a little bit... We’re just trying to expand to places where the normal country artists don’t go. I want to try to go to South America and different places -- just be unique and kind of in my own lane.”
Camila and Kane haven't met each other yet. It could happen on Sunday at the Billboard Awards, where they have nominations.
Could their version of the song fly at country radio?
Looks like Kane is aiming for world domination in music.
Blurring the lines of country and pop is only good for both genres.
