Chris Janson has released his poignant video for "Drunk Girl," which was filmed on Lower Broadway in Nashville, where he played when he first moved to Nashville.
He tells People magazine, “I shut down those bars, playing them my first year in town, and then to shut down the whole street…it was just very humbling.”
The video depicts sensitive subject matter in which a girl who has had too much to drink gets into a compromising position. The clip follows the girl from childhood to adulthood and the abuse that led her to her situation.
Chris says, “Sometimes these things get swept under the rug. Sometimes they get pushed so far back in the closet, nobody wants to look at it… Well guess what? It happens every day and it’s something to be thought about.”
Chris says fans have told him they've played the song for their high school and college-age children.
He doesn't want to offend anyone, but feels that the subject must be addressed.
It's an important lesson for everyone. Not just teens.
