2017 was a soul searching year for Carrie Underwood, and now we have more details as to why.
The 35-year-old, who is pregnant with her second child, opened up during an interview on CBS Sunday Morning, revealing she suffered three miscarriages over the past year.
She said, "I’d kind of planned that 2017 was, you know, going to be the year that I work on new music, and I have a baby. We got pregnant early 2017, and didn’t work out." She went on to get pregnant again in the spring and in early 2018, and both pregnancies ended in miscarriages.
When she finally got pregnant for the fourth time, there was a night when she believed she was suffering from yet another miscarriage, and she decided to talk to God about it.
“I was like, ‘Why on Earth do I keep getting pregnant if I can’t have a kid? Like, what is this? Shut the door. Like, do something. Either shut the door or let me have a kid.’ And for the first time, I feel like I actually I told God how I felt. That was like a Saturday — and the Monday I went to the doctor to, like, confirm, another miscarriage. And they told me everything was great!”
