A South Carolina mom spent her Mother's Day in jail after assaulting her child, because of a card he made.
According to the Spartanburg Police report, Shontrell Murphy "hit him in the head really hard because of a mother's day card." She apparently wasn't happy he didn't make her one, only one for his grandmother. She ripped it up and smacked him in the head. (The Smoking Gun)
The boy was evaluated on scene but no injuries where reported. Murphy was arrested for child cruelty.
