Melania Trump offered A collection of books to an elementary library in Cambridge, Mass. for National Read A Book Day, several of which where Dr. Seuss books. Cambridgeport Elementary School librarian Liz Phipps Soeiro refused the books from the First Lady saying they were "racist" and the school "has plenty of resources, which contributes directly to 'excellence", according to The Hill.
The school itself said in a statement that Soerio didn't have the authority to accept of reject donations and that they have since discussed her using public resources for political purposes.
Melania said that she would continue her efforts of helping children, despite the rejection.
