An Erie woman almost needed a defibrillator for Christmas after she got her most recent electric Bill.
Mary Horomanski knew her bill would be a little higher with the Christmas lights she had put up for the holidays but wasn't ready for the massive bill she received. This may be one for the record books!
Penelec, her electricity provider, billed her more than $284 billion. The minimum payment due: $28,000.
Horomanski told GoErie, “My eyes just about popped out of my head,” said Horomanski, 58. “We had put up Christmas lights and I wondered if we had put them up wrong.”
It turns out, after calling the company, it was a typo. Someone put the decimal point in a REALLY wrong place. She really owed just $284.00.
Can you imagine? I literally would've coded out before I even got to call the company!
