Do You Suffer From "Cold Intolerance"?

The coldest part of winter is about to hit us tonight with cold rain, snow possible tomorrow for northern & middle Georgia. Plus, freezing temps into Wednesday morning. Ice and snow always means terror for us southern folk. Well, you may have a legit "medical condition".

Some people's bodies simply can’t handle the cold. Mt. Sinai Hospital defines it as “an abnormal sensitivity to a cold environment or cold temperatures.” I think we just call it being "southern".

If you shiver when most don't or seem to feel chronically cold, regardless of the environment. This could be the issue. Bustle has laid out a few ways to deal with the cold temps and manage your shivering. Try these during a cold snap.

  • Boost your iron with diet.
  • Carry hand warmers.
  • Get enough sleep.
  • Drink more water.
  • Stack on the layers!
  • Get an electric blanket.
  • Drink hot liquids.

Symptoms may include irritability,  sudden out burst of calling other drivers "stupid", and compulsion to buy bread and milk.
