Dripping Springs, Texas could soon have a new name that many people can't get their mind out of the gutter with. How does Pound Town, Texas sound?
According to KXAN, Micah Archer and Daniel McCarthy, both 31 are natives of Dripping Springs and have started a coalition to rename the town to honor one of the founders Joseph McKegg Pound and his wife Sarah.
Archer and McCarthy declined to comment on the name being a bit "sexual" in nature but insist they simply would like the town to have a historic name. It seems a little fitting since there it is the home of the Friends Of The Pound House, a local nonprofit which maintains the Dr. Pound Historical Farmstead Museum.
The two are fighting the good fight for the name. They still have to get it on the 2020 ballot for voters and get the State of Texas to approve the name.
Can I please be the mayor of "Pound Town"? Pictured above is Dripping Springs Academy. I suggest, as mayor, if this goes through we rename that to "Pound Town U" as well!
Several comments on the article where:
"That's what I call my bedroom" and "That would be a great place to take my wife for our anniversary!"
It's a lovely town. CLICK HERE to see some of the attractions. Of course, I'd propose we get a new website too... PoundTown.com.
