Starting off a brand new year with a brand new baby is pretty exciting. Especially, when you can forever tell him he was the first baby born in the nation in 2020.
Atlanta's first baby of the year was Baby Hayden. He was born at 12:02 a.m. New Years Day, weighing in at 6lbs and 13 ounces. He wasn't due for another 18 days, but nothing sweeter than a New Years surprise. Hospital spokeswoman Janet Christenbury told AJC,
“His parents were not expecting his early arrival,” Christenbury said. “They say it’s a great way to kick off the New Year, probably the best way!”
He narrowly missed being the first baby born for the year in the entire nation. Tatum Faith Perry, in San Diego, was born at 12:01 a.m. on Jan. 1st. He wasn't due until Jan. 31st.
At Northside Hospital Atlanta, known for delivering the most babies in the U.S., another baby boy was born at 12:17 a.m. Seven minutes later, a baby girl was born at Northside Hospital Gwinnett, according to AJC.
Then at WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, a baby boy named Luke James Wall was born at 12:44 a.m. His parents where excited for their beautiful 2020 surprise as well.
Congrats to all the New Years babies and parents!
