A New Hampshire man is ride high with his record breaking catch. A 37.65lb Trout breaks the state record! What's your biggest fresh water fish?
"Thomas Knight of Meredith, New Hampshire, caught an enormous lake trout while ice fishing on Big Diamond Pond in West Stewartstown, NH," The @NHfishangame wrote on Instagram. This shattered a state record set all the way back in 1958 set at 28lbs.
“I’m not sure who was more excited,” said Andy Schafermeyer, a Fisheries Biologist with the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department. “I knew the fish stood a very good chance of breaking the record.” It looks like he can barley hold the beast in the picture. Hope he's got a big cooler for that one!
This still pretty shy of the world record that was caught back in 2014 in Minnesota. That monster was 45 inches long, 32 inches in girth and weighed 52.3 pounds, according to wideopenspaces.com.
Looks like Spencer Graves has got his work cut out for him. He wasn't fishin trout on his new boat, but this toddler of a fish sure isn't gonna break any records anytime soon. We all gotta start somewhere Spencer!
