This may be the most redneck van idea I've seen in a long time. Lazy-Boy recliners replacing the seats in a van that Australian police pulled over. How did this not happen in Georgia? Such a southern redneck idea, for sure!
Australian police noticed a van with expired plates, so initiated a traffic stop. When they approached the van, that's when they noticed the absolute luxury of the back seats. Leather recliners, with seat belts and all. This man be the tailgating/roadtrip champion!
The armchairs weren't free-floating either, as the installation included affixing an "alloy block" to the seats in order to mate with the factory mounting hardware. The seatbelts were also being used to fasten the recliners to the van. This man covered all the bases. In GA, it woulda been locked in with bungee cords, duck tape and some gorilla glue!
The police weren't amused. They said he could've probably used the $1,300 it cost him for the modification to update his registration. He got 3 tickets; one for the unregistered vehicle, one for breaching the standards of the vehicle registration with an unsafe modification, and another for an unrestrained passenger.
