Dozens of GA Healthcare Workers Fly to NY To Help With COVID Efforts

NY is fighting the hardest battle against the coronavirus with numbers growing out of hand. Georgia doctors and nurse are answering the call.

One of the largest medical ships on the planet, the U.S. Navy Medical ship, just docked in NY harbor to take on the overflow of sick (non-COVID) patients. It's a major help to alleviate the over run hospitals and over-worked healthcare workers. Now Georgia health professionals have stepped up to help, as well.

Southwest airlines shared a picture of the staff on a plane showing their "hearts" as they take off for New York, in an effort to flatten the curve of the Coronavirus in the U.S.

Hospital workers are begging for assistance with over 38,000 cases in the city and over 1,200 deaths, as of Tuesday morning (March 31st). They are working crazy long hours, are exhausted, and some even have caught the disease in their efforts.

"Their selfless sacrifice is a beacon of light during such a dark time in our world, and no amount of gratitude and praise would ever be enough," wrote Southwest or the medical staff coming in to help. "Because of their courage, our family, our friends, our coworkers, our neighbors, and more have a fighting chance."

We're praying for all the medical staff in every state that is struggling with this pandemic. May God bring all our Georgia heroes home and give them the healing hands to end this disease and find a cure.
