10 Places You Can Visit In Georgia Where Ozark Was Filmed

Netflix's "Ozark" Season 4 Premiere

This weekend we went to find the main home of The Byrd's, from the Netflix smash series Ozark. There are also several other locations in Georgia where they filmed.

We live near Lake Lanier and just recently finished up season 4 of the hit series Ozark on Netflix. We found out some filming locations were right near us, so we went on an exploration adventure to find the Ozark house. Marty and his family stayed in an old lake house in the series, but it wasn't in Lake of the Ozarks like they say in the series. It's actually right near Van Pugh North Park on Lanier.

We traveled down Gaines Ferry Rd. and over to the right, just before the park entrance, is the house. It's got a locked gate and no trespassing signs but, you can see it from the road. Such a cool thing to see!

There are several other spots to investigate that we haven't been to yet, but are planning to soon!

The beginning of the show starts with the family moving to the Ozarks, and Marty's first business venture is fixing up the Blue Cat Lodge. That lodge is actually on Lake Allatoona at the Little River Marina. The Little River Grill was a closed business they bought to do the filming in Cherokee County and it's still there. It's now called J.D's Bar-B-Que.

There is another spot on Lake Lanier where the FBI agent Roy Petty and Russ Langmore go fly fishing. This was shot near Jones Bridge Park in Gwinnett County, Georgia. It's in Suwanee Campground -Lake Lanier.

In season one, episode eight, “Kaleidoscope,” the vintage diner that Agent Roy Petty is seen in is actually on the Georgia Tech campus. It's called the Silver Skillet, a favorite for the students there in downtown ATL. This diner has also been in “Anchorman: The Legend Continues”and “Remember the Titans.” It's got quite an IMDB profile.

The Little River Marina, next to the Blue Cat Lodge, has main important scenes in the series too. Many of the expansive lake, forest, and sky shots are taken from the Little River Marina in Canton. The boat rental scenes and also a big murder scene where all filmed there.

Williamson Bros. BBQ is another location that was used for filming in Ozark Season 1, Episode 4. There are several locations, but I believe the Marietta one, on Roswell Rd., was home of the filming.

One major scene in Season 3, where the delivery drivers get ambushed by another cartel, was filmed at the Starlight Drive-In Movie Theater in Atlanta.

The Spanish Revival Mansion, home of cartel boss Navarro in Michoacán, that was actually an ATL location as well. That is actually the Westview Abbey. It's the Westview Cemetery’s mausoleum on Westview Drive in SW Atlanta.

The exterior shots of Lickety Splitzs strip club, that Marty owns, is actually an abandoned Motel 6 in Norcross, on Oakbrook Parkway. The interior shots where filmed on a sound stage in Norcross, as well, at Eagle Rock Studios.

Buford, GA has been a hot bed for several major shows filming as well. Ozark season 4 filmed in downtown Buford for a driving scene. Also, 'The Walking Dead' spin-off used this little downtown spot recently for filming.

Lastly, Another spot on Lake Lanier, that I believe has been taken down since, is the Trailer Park where Ruth and her family live during the show. It's on a small piece of land on Lake Lanier, that can mostly be seen from the water. It's very close to where the Byrd's home is near Van Pugh North Park. We couldn't find that location but saw it last summer driving by on a boat.
