First COViD, then murder hornets... now airborne turtles??? What's next 2020?!
“Beware, Savannah, of flying turtle[s],” Latonya Lark wrote on Facebook sharing a picture of the massive whole a turtle put in her windshield as she was cruising down a Savannah highway.
Her and her brother noticed an object they thought was a brick hurling towards them in the air and couldn't avoid it. Once it smashed through the windshield and narrowly missed her brother, Lark said she saw the legs and "thought it was an alien" at first. They finally realized it was a turtle in a half shell. Not the animated ones that love pizza, but a real-life wild turtle that somehow ended up airborne.
Police believe the turtle was hit by another car and sent into the air, that's when it came crashing through Lark's window. The turtle suffered several injuries, including losing a leg, and one report says it passed away from blood loss, but thankfully both people in the car where uninjured.
The comments are pretty hilarious though. One person wrote, "All I can think about is Mario Kart". good thing she didn't hit the banana right?
Another comment said, "Hero's in a half-shell, Turtle Power!"
