Disney Is Using Stormtroopers To Enforce Social Distancing At Parks

Taking a page from the enforcers of the dark side in Star Wars, Disney is making social distancing fun with storm troopers calling people out for not social distancing.

On May 20,parts of its Disney World reopened, including outdoor restaurants, entertainment venues and its shopping district, Disney Springs. People are now required to wear masks, stand 6 ft apart and rides are leaving empty rows for patrons to distance.

The "Star Wars" villains call out patrons who aren't following the rules encouraging visitors to “move along” and “stay in your sector” as they patrol from a balcony above a shopping plaza. It's a fun and amusing way for people to interact with the characters and remember to be safe. I love it!

The theme parks aren't quite open yet. Park officials plan to launch an incremental reopening of those on July 11, with Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom opening first.

My family and I are major Disney fans. We won't be going this year but can't wait to get back there in 2021 if everything seems to get back to normal-ish.
