Dr. Fauci Claims Football May Not Happen This Year

"Football may not happen" Dr. Fauci said in a recent interview on CNN. Those are fightin words in the South! Football is a religion here!

CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta had the Top U.S. disease expert on his show to talk about a potential second wave of the COVID-19 disease this fall. Fauci said, “it would be very hard to see how football is able to be played this fall.”

As new cases around the country pop up and spike in some states for a second time, Fauci is worried with states opening up and people going back to routines, a second wave of the disease is likely. He said it's "certainly a possibility and which would be complicated by the predictable flu season, football may not happen this year.” Those words to a southerner are blasphemy. Football is life... if we can protest... we can football!

80% of the most watched TV broadcasts this year involved NFL and NCAA football. This would destroy the bottom lines for huge broadcast companies like, ViacomCBS Inc., Fox Corp., Comcast Corp. and Walt Disney Co.

Several NFL players have tested positive for COVID recently. Teammates from the Dallas Cowboys, including their star player Ezekiel Elliott, and the Houston Texans are recovering currently from catching a piece of the global pandemic.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Allen Sills have promised they are working on a great plan to keep the games from being cancelled while following guidelines to keep players and fans safe. In a Bloomberg interview Goodell assured fans the season would be a go and they are taking the right steps. Dr. Sills released a statement saying, “Dr. Fauci has identified the important health and safety issues we and the NFL Players Association, together with our joint medical advisors, are addressing to mitigate the health risk to players, coaches and other essential personnel. Make no mistake, this is no easy task.”

WE NEED OUR FOOTBALL! This year has been crazy enough... I'm not sure I can handle a blackout on football. NO WAY!
