Some say fishing is for the boys... not this woman who just broke a Gulf Of Mexico/Alabama record with her 851-lb catch.

Ginger Myers was fishing off the coast of Orange Beach, Ala. when she snagged a monster sized blue marlin, Saturday. She was taking part in the Mongo Offshore Challenge when she brought in the 851.9-lb catch.

According to WKRG, the current state record for a blue marlin is 845.8 pounds, so pending official measurements, Myers now holds the new record for Marlin. Smashing the state record for the largest blue marlin caught in Alabama and ever caught in the Gulf Of Mexico, as well.

The competition goes until Oct. 15th, so there is still time for someone to possibly take out her record, but not likely. The previous record was held for 7 years. (MORE PICS)
