Parents of a 12-year-old girl in Canada are warning others about how fast children can rack up thousands of dollars in charges on the Tik Tok App. There are many enhanced features on the app that people can purchase to amp up their presence, likes and views. This teen was buying the app coins that are used to buy likes and send to massive tik tok influencers to share their content. Every time the girl bought a coin, it was charged to her mother's Mastercard that was on file.
Typically these apps will notify cardholders of unusual activity happening but this mother says she had no idea until she was on the hook for $12K. They say their child is a good kid, but got caught up in the app and didn't realize what they where doing. They are warning other parents of how easy it can happen and are disputing the charges with Tik Tok.

I remember as a kid calling the 900 Hotlines for psychics when we had friends stay over. My parents got the phone bill a few weeks later and lit us up. We where just messing around and they got a bill for $900. They made us work it off with chores and yard work. It was a hard lesson learned.
