The national treasure that is Betty White passed away this morning at the age of 99.
TMZ confirmed that police responded to the actress and comedian's home this morning and she had passed away. She was just weeks shy of her 100th birthday.
Most famously known for 'The Golden Girls', Betty has been an icon and mentor for female comedians for decades. She's garnered numerous accolades over the course of her career, including multiple a Grammy, a few Emmys, Screen Actors Guild Awards, American Comedy Awards. She was also nominated for several Golden Globes and honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by several organizations.
She just recently joked about actor Ryan Reynolds being obsessed with her saying, "I've heard Ryan can't get over his thing for me but Robert Redford is The One." Ryan then tweeted, "I'm absolutely sick of the media exploiting past relationships just to drive clicks."
As of this writing this blog, he has not commented on her death.
She didn't even make it to her milestone 100th birthday on Jan 17th or to see the year 2022. What a sad thing to start the coming year. She was a true pioneer and an amazing human being. Rest in Peace Betty. #Legend.
