Note to self: Snow removal with a flamethrower... TERRIBLE IDEA!
Connecticut firefighter's responded to a home on fire, according to fire officials in the town of Seymour. The homeowner admitted that he tried removing snow with a flamethrower, when it caught the siding on his house a blaze as he “accidentally ignited” the side of the home. An exterior wall was in flames when firefighters arrived, but it was “quickly” extinguished and the home was saved, according to a Facebook post about the incident.
“We do not recommend the use of flame-throwers or any similar devices as an attempt to melt ice,” the FB post said. “These devices are in fact designed for weed management and can be used to mitigate ice.
A man in Kentucky was actually more successful, dressed as Cousin Eddie from 'Christmas Vacation'. The couple shared their video from 2020 on social media. They cleared their driveway of ice and snow. They seemed to be a little more intelligent by staying away from the actual house.
