Imagine being surrounded by mourning relatives when you wake up from a deep sleep or coma? It happened to a woman in Peru
Rosa Isabel Cespedes Callaca was in a car crash which killed her brother-in-law and severely injured her three nephews. She was also pronounced dead by doctors, sent to the morgue, and prepared for her funeral... yet no one noticed... SHE WAS STILL ALIVE.
It seems the don't embalm the dead before a funeral in Peru. Rosa happened to just be in a short coma. No one noticed, so family prepared her body for burial and had a funeral. However, while pallbearers were carrying her coffin to the burial site, they began to hear a banging noise coming from inside the coffin. After opening the casket, she was alive and staring at them.
Cemetery caretaker Juan Segundo Cajo said: "She opened her eyes and was sweating. I immediately went to my office and called the police." When the arrived she was rushed back to the hospital with vital signs.
Sadly though, it was too late. After being on life support for several hours, she was pronounced dead..... like for real this time. Her family is asking that an investigation into the doctors be opened to see how they could've missed her being alive.
This has happened before and in an even scarier scenario. In 2021, a 76-year-old Indian woman who was pronounced dead following a COVID-19 diagnosis. Immediately before she was to be cremated, she came alive again.
Look I've been to several 2nd weddings... I am NOT coming to your second funeral. Way too creeped out the first time!
