Thomas Rhett is beyond excited to come back home to Georgia this week. Moote, Kimmie & Otis ask about those new "family members" that seem to pop up, things in Georgia he suggests are Must does, and he spills the tea on his friends.
Valdosta's superstar Thomas Rhett is one of the kindest and most genuine people in Country Music today and he has a major affection for Georgia and what it represents. His roots run deep and he's always excited to get to come home and play.
That does come with some odd moments though... like when random people claim they are related. "I'm so jacked to be there... anytime we're around within 300 miles from Valdosta, Georgia or Nashville I get to see literally 30-50 cousins, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th."
Kimmie is new to GA so Thomas suggested a few things she MUST DO in the G-A. "Go down to where I'm from and stop at any old truck stop and get a bag of boiled peanuts. I can sit there and eat a bag of those, especially the spiced ones... B-O-L-D, bold peanuts."
TR also gives praises to his Dad, even growing up in the shadow of superstar Rhett Akins. He says "My Dad is one of the most amazing mentors of my career that I have."
He loves that him and his Father can write from a lot of different perspectives, "I can write things from a perspective that I remember them from. But my Dad can also dive in and be like 'I remember when you got broken up with when you were in 10th grade and I know the real story'."
Rhett was a writer on "She Had Me At Heads Carolina" with Cole Swindell that is crushing the Country charts right now. He's also reeling from his latest #1 "Slow Down Summer". Meanwhile, his latest song "Half of Me" is looking to be his next #1. It was written over a lunch when someone was skipping the gym with Thomas and said "Half of me wants a cold beer, and the other half does to". He said "Man, that's one of the most redneck things I've ever hear, we've got to go write that." An hour later the song was finished.
MK&O love playing games, so they also had Thomas jump in and call out his famous buddies in a game called "Most Likely To". TR tells us which of his famous country buddies is "Most like too... wake up with countless bruises and not know why? who is the worst influence? and who does everything to the extreme?"
