Video of a scary incident inside a Georgia Walmart show people scrambling for exits and a roof cave in.

A 4-alarm response by firefighters on Wednesday evening had customers running for their lives as police ran into help save people. Sprinkler systems helped contain the blaze but the heat and smoke was intense. Officials say around 7:20 p.m. firefighters responded to the Walmart on Georgia Highway 54. The fire was so high it started to create structural damage and made it very unsafe.

First responders were ordered out of the building for safety reasons and some police who were first on scene had to be treated for smoke inhalation.

Fox 5 Atlanta shared the horrifying videos.

"While fighting the fire with a large amount of water, they report the structural members from the roof began to collapse on them, so the decision was made to back out and the incident commander made the decision to go defensive and fight the fire from the outside of the building," Peachtree City Fire Deaprtment Assistant Chief Wil Harbin said to Fox 5.

Fayette, Fayette County, Newnan, and Coweta County fire departments were all called in to assist.

The damage extent is still unknown but thankfully there were no major injuries to customers or staff reported.
