England's icon, Queen Elizabeth II, passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon at her Scottish estate. Reports of health issues had been coming out for weeks, and it seem as if the 96-year-old was about to rise into the real Kingdom of heaven.
Many people in the world mourned her loss across social media channels. She was a woman of grace and poise during her reign. She kept the family and Kingdom in high order and was not afraid to speak her mind. The Queen did many great things in her life, but as any position of power, there where some things I'm sure she wasn't proud of and things that many criticized her for.
She's been criticized for how she handled Princess Diana's death. Plus, the latest scandals put even the Queen in a bad light. Prince Andrew's sexual assault allegations seemed to be ignored or attempted to be hidden by the Queen and the family. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had some allegations, as they removed themselves from royalty. They seemed to elude to The Queen's racial bias against Meghan.
Everyone has an opinion and some aren't afraid to speak it... even when CNN is asking them on the streets. She said she's not "the biggest fan of the queen or the royal family in general, so I wasn't like upset or overwhelmed by it." When asked why she referenced the Prince Andrew scandal and the "British colonial history".
Regardless of one's opinion of how she held the throne, it's hard to take away from all the histroy that was made by this woman and the strength and poise she showed as a leader, even in her elder age.
