Here's an UPDATE: His name is Jermaine and he scaled down 19 floors of a Philadelphia building on Thursday night as a fire blazed inside the structure. The fire started at a building in West Philadelphia at around 9:30 p.m. and Jermaine was apparently attempting to escape the smoke coming from the top floors when he climbed down, according to WPVI-TV. The building was evacuated and some of the residents have not been accounted for. But it appears that there were no injuries in the blaze.
UPDATE: The reason Jermaine was scaling the building, he was checking on his 65 year old mother, who is confined to the bed. In fact, the news crew only caught footage of him climbing down. Jermaine admitted to climbing up after officials told him the elevators were down and the stairs were being used to get people out.
Jermaine safely made it to the ground. Authorities believe the fire started in a trash compactor.
