Last weekend was the homecoming game for Savannah State University in Georgia.
Homecoming is fun for many students, but this year, it was extra special because a family donated $1 million for scholarships.
Frank and Patricia Kabela feel fortunate that they’ve enjoyed professional success. So, they decided to give back – in a big way.
They stepped on the football field at the homecoming game to announce their $1 million donation – and also pledged an additional $50,000 each year to continue to help students fulfill their dreams of earning a college degree.
And for the record, Frank and Patricia attended Rutgers in New Jersey, but loved the spirit of the student body, faculty and staff at Savannah State.
