A lot of stories out of Florida are CRAZY…but sometimes…if you keep digging…you find a really fantastic one.
Nine-year-old Parker Williams lives by the mantra “Pay it forward.”He hears his parents talking about it all of the time.The have also instilled in Parker and his two brothers to always be nice to others, no matter what.
So Parker did just that.He decided to do something nice for his teacher.After thinking about it every night for a week, he decided to give Mrs. Chambers a pay raise – with his own birthday money.
He wrote,
“DEAR MRS. CHAMBERS, I DON’T THINK THAT TEACHERS GET PAID ENOUGH FOR WHAT THEY DO, SO, WILL YOU ACCEPT THIS GIFT?”
She smiled and gave him a hug.
As for the raise? It was returned with a polite response saying,
“I CAN’T ACCEPT THIS, BUT APPRECIATE THE GESTURE PARKER, STUDENTS LIKE YOU ARE THE REASON I TEACH.”
For Parker, the reward was already received. He was reminded that paying it forward, always pays off.Parker says it felt good to do something nice.
