Let me introduce you to David. Heās 21 years-old and is autistic and non-verbal. But last week, he sad his first words. Heās a Jacksonville Jaguars fan and he said āI love Jaguars.ā
His momĀ KerryĀ was thrilled since theyāve never had a conversation. Then he asked his first question. āWould someone like me?ā
David doesnāt know the answer because heās home schooled. Not only is he autistic, but he also has an immunodeficiency disorder that requires him to be isolated from others to prevent him from getting infections. He only sees his family and watches TV.
His mom posted the question on her Twitter account last Wednesday and the response was amazing. Over 73-thousand people liked it and thousands responded. Many people who are on the spectrum themselves or have a family member who is, cheered Davidās breakthrough.
Kerry has since shared that her son was so touched by the outpouring that heās creating a thank you card for everyone.
