Two General Motors engineers were arrested after racing two unreleased Corvettes on public highways. Mark Derkatz and Alexander Thim were clocked going over 120 mph, in a 45 mph zone, driving 2020 Corvette Stingrays. The GM plant in Bowling Green is the sole plant that manufactures Corvettes and the engineers traveled there from Canada and West Bloomfield. The pair explained that they were at a nearby bar and then left prior to "racing." Both were cited and released. In a statement, GM said they were investigating the incident.
