This hits so close to home for me. As a child, my family had a 15-20 foot Christmas tree. My mom loved Christmas and every thing it was about, from the birth of Jesus to the time spent with family, it was her favorite. My parents would leave our oversized live Christmas tree up until Easter, every year. When we moved to Virginia, the ceilings were a bit lower so we ended up with an artificial tree. My parents decided to celebrate all year long and my mom would decorate the tree in other themes for the season.
Now, my mom has Alzheimer's and doesn't live at home but my Dad has left the tree up since their last Christmas together in 2009. Check out a tree @turtlecreeklane has up for Valentine's Day.
