Sweet friendships are blessings. There’s one dynamic duo that is winning hearts across all forms of social media. Their names are Herman and Lundy.
Herman the pigeon was rescued from a car dealership in New York a year ago. He was found sitting on the pavement. He’d been there three days. Rescuers realized that he was unable to fly because he was suffering from a neurological condition. Once they declared him untreatable, they prepared to euthanize him. That’s when the founder of a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing animals with physical defects stepped in to save him.
Over the past year, Herman has been cared for.He was paired with an unlikely roommate – a Chihuahua puppy named Lundy who is unable to move his hind legs. The pigeon and the puppy share the same crib and have become virtually inseparable.
Furthermore, the foundation that rescued them has been flooded with thousands of dollars in donations since photos of Herman and Lundy hit social media last week.
And now their little story is being shared all over the world.
