A tornado ripped through parts of downtown Nashville, killing five people and turning homes and businesses into piles of rubble. The tornado was spotted shortly after midnight. Police in Mount Juliet, just east of Nashville, reported that the town of around 30,000 was "impacted significantly" with multiple homes damaged and multiple injuries.
